The Indio Performing Arts Center announces
Plans to Host The Coachella Valley's Latino International Film Festival

A collection of Latino films from around the world with a
special showcase from Mexico will highlight
the festival on December 4-6, 2009

One of the world's most popular and fastest-growing international film genres has selected The Indio Performing Arts Center in Indio, California as their official home for the Coachella Valley's Latino International Film Festival scheduled for December 4-6, 2009. International films from the various Latino countries from around the world with a special showcase of new films from Mexico will participate.

The event will be an annual fundraiser for The Indio Performing Arts Center under the direction of General Business Manager, David Clinton-Reid. International Latino films, special events, an audience favorite award for the best film with the participation from Latino filmmakers and entertainers will be a part of the first year's 3-day event.

The Indio, California location joins two other major southern California Latino film festivals (Los Angeles and San Diego) whose focus is on quality international Latino films. "We are extremely pleased to have successfully secured this event and look forward to showing off our Performing Arts Center which is a part of the new downtown renovation in Indio. We are up to the task and will be welcoming our community and the international filmmakers with great pride," said General Business Manager, David Clinton-Reid.

Dave Ison, City Liaison to the performing arts center said "The City of Indio through its partnership with the non-profit Indio Performing Arts Center to provide live performing arts, cabaret theater and cultural events is excited to see the Indio Performing Arts Center chosen as the home of the Latino International Film Festival." Members of the Hollywood Foreign Press will be serving as consultants and advisors for the event and the entertainment, film and fashion Internet site, NotesFromHollywood.com, will serve as one of the major media sponsors.

Joining the event as a Presenting Sponsor is Q3 Telecom, Inc. President/CEO, Janie Hughes, will serve as President of the event and participate in the local, over-all management with General Business Manager of IPAC, David Clinton-Reid. "I'm really excited about the event. Our company has been involved with international film festivals over the years and my company looks forward to making this event one of Indio's most successful annual events," stated President, Janie Hughes.

Latino films are now being submitted for consideration and special events for the festival and are being planned. A full schedule of films, special events and ticket information will be available September 1, 2009
