The Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival Announces Additional Panel of Filmmakers to “GB2525

Actress and Veteran Radio Host, V.J. Hume to Interview, Actor, Gregory Cruz

Joining the Film Festival as the Celebrity Interviewer for the “Conversations With Gregory Cruz” Special Event will be actress and local veteran radio host, V.J. Hume. Among the awards that she has won are, an Athena, a Christopher, an Angel and Presswoman of The Year and she also has the distinction of being a member of MENSA. “This exciting Film Festival is a true feather in the caps of the City of Indio and the Indio Performing Arts Center. Felicidades a todos !”, said Ms. Hume. Television Star, Gregory Cruz from the TNT- TV hit Series, “SAVING GRACE” will participate as the principle Special Guest of “Conversations With Gregory Cruz” – A Special Event on Saturday, December 5th at 7:00 PM.

Producer John Estrada for the film, “GB2525” will be joined by the film’s writer/co-director/actor/editor-JoJoHenrickson, and co-director/cinematographer/production designer/visual effects-Kieron Estrada as a panel to discuss their film. John Estrada is a Senior Coordinator in International Distribution for Universal Pictures, where he has worked for twelve years. Estrada is also actively developing several feature film projects and a television series. Jojo Henrickson achieved critical acclaim for screenwriting the 2007 Lionsgate release, “LADRON QUE ROBA A LADRON”. Jojo's diverse background in stage, television, film and the stand-up comedy club circuit enabled him to remain in the business for over twenty years. He has produced and directed for both local and national Spanish language television including KRCA in Los Angeles and NBC’s Telemundo Network. In 2001 he wrote, edited, produced and directed his first feature film - the indie Latino thriller, “THE BARRIO MURDERS”. Kieron Estrada is the key creative force behind the visual look of “GB2525”. Not only was Estrada the cinematographer and co-director, but he oversaw all of the production design and created the visual effects. Participation by the audience in a Question and Answer session will follow.

The first annual Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival will be held on December 4-6, 2009 at the Indio Performing Arts Center in Indio, California. The event will be a fundraiser to benefit the Non-Profit, Indio Performing Arts Center under the Direction of Manager, David Clinton-Reid and the International Latino films and documentaries, Special Events, with the participation from Latino filmmakers and entertainers will be a part of the first year’s 3-day event, with a Special Guest presenting the Audience Favorite Award, decided upon the Festival’s attending audience on Sunday evening, the close of the film festival.

The complete line-up of the film schedule has been announced and reservations to purchase tickets are strongly recommended. The box office opens November 30th.
