The Coachella Valley's Latino International Film Festival Will Be Featured Highlight At This Year's Indio International Tamale Festival
Special Showcase of Films Will Compliment The Indio International Tamale Festival and Cultural Events of The Indio Performing Arts Center
INDIO, CA. - General Business Manager of the Indio Performing Arts Center, David Clinton-Reid, announced today that The Coachella Valley's Latino International Film Festival would be one of the many highlighted events at this year's Indio International Tamale Festival. The film showcase of Latino films will open December 4, 2009 with a reception starting at 6:00 pm at the Indio Performing Arts followed by a film screening. The film will be announced in October when advance tickets go on sale for $75 per person or $125 per couple. The opening night screening will take place in two theaters because of the anticipated crowd. The event is a fundraiser for the performing arts center.
"We are pleased to host the Latino Film Festival which is an expansion of the cultural arts events being showcased at the Indio Performing Arts Center. We look forward to making this a signature event each year" stated Clinton-Reid.
Beginning Saturday, December 5th and continuing on December 6, 2009, screenings will take place each day at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The closing night film will be followed by the announcement of the Audience Favorite Award. The winner will be decided by the voting of the audience following each screening. Congresswoman, Representative Mary Bono-Mack, will be a part of presenting the Audience Favorite Award to the winning filmmaker. International films from the various Latino countries from around the world with a special showcase of films from Mexico will participate.
The film schedule with a brief synopsis will be available in mid October. Filmmakers and members of the film industry will be in attendance to support their films. Additional coverage will be available by the film festival's international media sponsor www.NotesFromHollywood.com.
The Indio, California location joins two other major southern California Latino film festivals (Los Angeles and San Diego) whose focus is on quality international Latino films. "We are extremely pleased to have successfully secured this event and look forward to showing off our Performing Arts Center which is a part of the new downtown renovation in Indio. We are up to the task and will be welcoming our community and the international filmmakers with great pride," continued General Business Manager, David Clinton-Reid.
Joining the The Latino International Film Festival as a Presenting Sponsor is Q3 Telecom, Inc. President/CEO, Janie Hughes, will serve as President of the event and participate in the local, over-all management with General Business Manager of IPAC, David Clinton-Reid.
