Florence Ren Figueroa has been named as the Director of Sponsorships for the C.V.L.I.F.F. and Director of Sponsorships for the National Hispanic American Educational Fund

Florence Ren Figueroa, Director of Sponsorships for the C.V.L.I.F.F. comes from an extensive background in the entertainment industry in Hollywood, as well as having produced a number of events in the desert cities of the Coachella Valley.

The first annual Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival will be held on December 4-6, 2009 at the Indio Performing Arts Center in Indio, California. The event will be an annual fundraiser for The Indio Performing Arts Center under the Direction of Manager, David Clinton-Reid. International Latino films, special events, with the participation from Latino filmmakers and entertainers will be a part of the first year's 3-day event, with a Special Guest presenting the Audience Favorite Award, decided upon by the Festival's attending audience.

The National Hispanic American Educational Fund is a Non-Profit national organization whose President is the multi Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actress, Liz Torres, who, along with the Board of Directors' and nationally recognized Hispanic leaders, such as Henry Cisneros, Dolores Huerta, Esai Morales, Bedemar Velasquez, Cristina Saralegul, Wilmer Valderrama, established the Fund over a decade ago to assist Hispanic high school seniors going to colleges by providing them with financial grants.

The Fund's awards, seven in all, will be given out as a part of this year's Closing Night, a special event (December 6, 2009) at the Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival, (December 4-6, 2009). Torres stated, "Education is the most important aspect of a child's development outside of the home and we look forward to participating with the CVLIFF's outreach into the community to make this a very successful undertaking on behalf of Valley students". The Fund, under the Sponsorship direction of Florence Ren Figueroa, is seeking Valley area businesses, individuals and community groups to underwrite and present the awards in each category. Previous Fund sponsors include: AOL Time Warner, comedienne George Lopez and his wife Ann, Sodexho, Cristina Saralegui, and Arizona State University.

"This is a great opportunity to get involved at this first annual event, as it arrives at the end of this fiscal year. In a time when our country's economy is sliding, these two Non-Profit organizations have provided so much to our youth and community and should continue to receive support," stated Figueroa.
