First Local Community Sponsors Announced
Congresswoman, Mary Bono-Mack of the 45th District, California will be one of the many distinguished guests attending in support of the first annual Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival. The first Sponsors to come on board for the CVLIFF are: City of Indio, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, R & R Broadcasting, Univision-Palm Springs, KUNA TV-Telemundo, KUNA FM-La Poderosa 96.7, news papers, El Informador, La Presna Hispana, PostNet of Palm Desert, NotesFromHollywood.com and Chelsea's Holistic Health Counseling, Inc.
The first annual Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival will be held on December 4-6, 2009 at the Indio Performing Arts Center in Indio, California. The event will be a fundraiser to benefit the Non-Profit, Indio Performing Arts Center under the Direction of Manager, David Clinton-Reid with Janie Hughes of Q3 Telecom, Inc. as a Presenting Sponsor and President of the event. International Latino films, Special Events, with the participation from Latino filmmakers and entertainers will be a part of the first year's 3-day event, with a Special Guest presenting the Audience Favorite Award, decided upon the Festival's attending audience on Sunday evening, the close of the film festival.
The National Hispanic American Educational Fund is a Non-Profit national organization under the managing direction of Gerald A Vukas and the multi Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actress, Liz Torres, who, along with a group of nationally recognized Hispanic leaders, such as Henry Cisneros, Dolores Huerta, Esai Morales, Bedemar Velasquez, Christina Saralegui, Lupe Ontiveros, Maria Hinojosa, Wilmer Valderrama, established the Fund over a decade ago to assist Hispanic high school seniors going to colleges by providing them with financial grants. The Fund's awards, seven in all, will be given out as a part of this year's Closing Night, a special event (December 6, 2009) at the Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival. Previous Fund sponsors include: AOL Time Warner, comedienne George Lopez and his wife Ann, Sodexho, and the Arizona State University. "If you want to live in a better world, prepare yourself, with a higher education, for it will prepare you for the demands of this century of future innovations will require" said Actress, Lupe Ontiveros, star of stage, screen and television.
Corporate and other local community sponsors are currently being sought for the film festival. "This is a great opportunity to get involved at this first annual event, as it arrives at the end of this fiscal year.
