Announces The Participation of Television Star, Gregory Cruz

Florence Ren Figueroa Receives Promotion and New Sponsors Announced

Television star, Gregory Cruz from the TNT- TV hit Series, "SAVING GRACE" (also starring Holly Hunter), will participate as one of the two special Guests for the Special Highlight Event, "Conversations With…" on Saturday, December 5th as a part of the film festival. Along with Congresswoman Mary Bono-Mack, Miss Mexico 2007, Priscila Perales, many other distinguished guests will be attending in support of the first annual Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival. The first annual Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival will be held on December 4-6, 2009 at the Indio Performing Arts Center in Indio, California. The event will be a fundraiser to benefit 2 Non-Profit organizations: The Non-Profit, Indio Performing Arts Center under the Direction of Manager, David Clinton-Reid and the National Hispanic American Educational Fund. International Latino films and documentaries, Special Events, with the participation from Latino filmmakers and entertainers will be a part of the first year's 3-day event, with a Special Guest presenting the Audience Favorite Award, decided upon the Festival's attending audience on Sunday evening, the close of the film festival.

Actor, Gregory Cruz has an extensive background in motion pictures, television and theatre. Cruz's lead, guest-star, co-star, and recurring roles for television include episodes on DR. QUINN MEDICINE WOMAN, THE PRETENDER, JUDGING AMY, MDs, X-FILES, NYPD BLUE, CRIMINAL MIND, IN PLAIN SIGHT and most recently, CSI:NY. He's performed in the HBO shows, TECUMSEH and VIETNAM WAR STORY, and played the serial killer Richard Ramirez in MANHUNT: SEARCH FOR THE NIGHTSTALKER. Cruz's theatre background is vast and includes productions across the country and is also a founding member of the Friends & Artists Theatre Ensemble in Los Angeles, receiving a Drama-Logue Award for his as MacHeath in THE THREE PENNY OPERA. Currently, Mr. Cruz is best known for his role as Detective Bobby Stillwater in the hit TNT - TV Series, "SAVING GRACE".

Florence Ren Figueroa has been promoted to the position of Regional Producer for the CVLIFF along with her Under One Sky Productions banner. Ms. Figueroa comes from an extensive background in the entertainment industry as a Casting Director, for the major film production studios, television networks and as Director of Development to Mark R. Harris (the Harris Company - Academy Award winner for the films, Crash and God's and Monsters).
