The Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival Announces The Mayor’s Office of The City of Indio, Ca. to Participate at Film Festival
Local Radio Personality, Cirenia Guerrero to M.C. Closing Night Event with Latin Music Legends
Council Member - Lupe Ramos Watson will speak on behalf of the Mayor’s Office of The City of Indio on Friday, December 4th at the Opening Night Ceremony of the film festival. Council Member - Melanie Fesmire will be presenting a proclamation to Actor, Greogry Cruz on Saturday, December 5th at 7 PM at the Special Event, “Conversations With Gregory Cruz”. The Proclamation will declare Saturday, December 5th as Gregory Cruz Day in The City of Indio, California. And, Council Member – Lupe Ramos Watson will speak on behalf of Mayor Pro Tem, Gene Gilbert on Sunday, December 6th at the Closing Night Ceremony of the film festival.
Local Radio Personality and Sponsor, Cirenia Guerrero will be the Mistress of Ceremonies on Sunday, December 6th at 7 PM for the Closing Night Ceremonies after the screening of the film, Latin Legends with Trini Lopez. Cirenia is the daily mid-day D.J. on radio station, KFUT - 1270 AM La Voz. Ms. Guerrero is also the driving force, the producer behind the well-produced community event, Dia de La Mujer, 2009 – (“Day of The Woman”) which was recently held in Indio, California.
Also appearing but not performing at the Closing Night Film event, will be legendary performer, Trini Lopez and the members of the band, Tierra. Tierra, the band named "Best R&B Vocal Group" by four leading magazines including Billboard. They started their career in East Los Angeles with a blend of rock, pop, jazz, R&B and salsa. The result was a Latin R&B rhythm which produced classics like "Together", "Gonna Find Her", "Memories" and "Zoot Suit Boogie". They have performed in such prestigious shows such as Carnegie Hall, The American Music Awards, American Bandstand, and the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion. Joining in the evening’s activities will also be singer-songwriter, Mark Guerrero. Guerrero is the son of late music legend, Lalo Guerrero and will be performing at the reception on Sunday, December 6th at 9:00 PM following the Closing Night Film, Legends With Trini Lopez.
The Coachella Valley Latino International Film Festival will be held on December 4-6, 2009 at the Indio Performing Arts Center in Indio, California. The event will be a fundraiser to benefit the Non-Profit, Indio Performing Arts Center. The international Latino films and documentaries, Special Events, with the participation from Latino filmmakers and entertainers will be a part of the 3-day event, with a Special Guest presenting the Audience Favorite Award, decided upon the Festival’s attending audience on Sunday evening, the close of the film festival. The complete line-up of the film schedule has been announced and reservations to purchase tickets are strongly recommended. The box office is now open.
